Mortgage experts mostly think rates will stay flat in the coming week (Dec. 23-29). In response to Bankrate’s weekly poll, 60% said rates will hold steady. Meanwhile, 30% said they would rise and just 10% predicted they would fall.

Based on the mortgage rate trend, it might be a good time to consider refinancing your current mortgage. Refinancing is the process of paying off your existing mortgage with a new mortgage. Typically, you refinance your mortgage to reduce your interest rate and monthly payment or change the length (or term) of your mortgage.
