Mortgage experts are evenly split over whether rates will remain the same or fall the week ahead (April 22-28). In response to Bankrate’s weekly poll, 50% said rates will remain the same and 50% said rates would fall. None of the respondents said they expect rates to rise.

Based on the mortgage rate trend, it might be a good time to consider refinancing your current mortgage. Refinancing is the process of paying off your existing mortgage with a new mortgage. Typically, you refinance your mortgage to reduce your interest rate and monthly payment or change the length (or term) of your mortgage.
